FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers.
How much for one of your machines?
The base price is dependent upon combined cost of parts acquired at time of construction and construction labor time. An Arcade Master cabinet with default options right now costs $1200-1600 (Subject to change). A $800-900 model has no trackball and a smaller screen (no prototype made yet).
If I buy a Coin-Op machine from Nurmweb Games, can I legally make money from its use?
Yes, as long as you purchase the proper state-issued decal for operating the particular machine in your business (or wherever).
Can Nurmweb Games make a coin-operated cabinet with any and all arcade games, or with the same contents as the Arcade Master?
No. Nurmweb Games will not make a coin-op machine that runs emulation software, only genuine, licensed arcade eprom chips or 60-in-1 boards and the like (there are game boards with thousands of games onboard too, but the game selections can be quirky. More info soon). However, we can equip a non-coin-op machine with a coin door that has coin buttons disguised as coin slots or a hi-res decal of a coin door. (A money-making home console emulator machine would be illegal, and an unbelievably complicated technical proposal to boot!) Another option is an arcade board that has an onboard SD card for adding your own game ROMs (up to 45). True legal licensing for such a board is practically impossible though, but that's up to the end user.
I've always wanted a (insert classic arcade game) machine. Can I get one from Nurmweb Games?
Yes. Nurmweb Games can make replicas of classic arcade games with the original (new) controls...or a multi-arcade disguised as a classic arcade machine. The thing to understand is the most expensive parts of any arcade machine are the Game Board PCB/PC and monitor hardware. The biggest difference between a Nurmweb machine and a genuine classic machine: all the components are brand new and in some cases, much higher quality.
I like the machine, but I want the marquee/artwork to say something else. Possible?
Yes! You can call it whatever you want. If you can't make your own artwork, I'll be happy to make you something nice at no extra charge, just tell me what you want!
I don't want a black cabinet. Can the cabinet be any color?
Yes, the cabinet can be any color you want. Glossy paints are usually preferred, but textured paints are interesting as well as sparkle-type finishes. Unless the paint color is some hard to find or expensive auto finish, the cost is included in the base price.
Do I really need all those buttons?
The Arcade Master is (at this time) setup to play games from 10 different systems. Some later console controllers have a lot of buttons which need to be represented on the control panel, thus all the buttons on the Arcade Master. If it looks like too much for you, we might suggest the 60-in-1 Multi-Cade cabinet with a simpler control setup for the 60 essential arcade games. Also, please check the many various control panel layouts that are available (under "Custom" in the menu) for different approaches to the same controls.
I want a machine that plays other stuff...can Nurmweb Games do that?
Probably. We are currently working on designs for a virtual Pinball Table, a multi-game light-gun machine, a multi-player, multi-game driving arcade machine & several other specialty games. Just send any specific questions through our "Contact" page.
